    Graphic driver gives me BSOD

Hello, when I install the graphic driver for windows 7 it gives me the BSOD when I boot up the computer. The reason is the nvlddmkm.sys file that gives the BSOD. The only way to boot it up is to run it in safe mode.

I got a hp pavilion dv9700 with nVidia GeForce 8600M GS with 512mb.

NVIDIA seems to do a poor job of supplying updated drivers for laptops.

Try the latest driver from NVIDIA & Laptop News | Latest NVIDIA drivers and related news | laptopvideo2go.com

You might need to use a modded .inf

More info is in the forum there.

That didn't work either... if i start it up normally the screen is black all the time and it doesn't respond. If i try to disable driver signature enforcement under boot it gives me BSOD

Have you done an all-out driver cleanout yet? If not I would try this ..

    1. Change/Force Video Card to use Standard VGA Driver through Device Manager

    2. Restart in Safe Mode F8

    3. Uninstall your current Nvidia driver Set and PhysX Drivers if present using Nvidia's own uninstall program.

    4. Restart in Safe Mode again.

    5. Use DriverCleaner or Driversweeper (free from Guru3d.com)

    6. Restart Normally

6B. Re-install/update motherboards chipset drivers and updating the BIOS may also be a good idea.

    7. Install latest Nvidia Drivers from LaptopVideotoGo

    8. Install Latest DirectX9 Update Release from Microsoft

    9. Restart the PC and see how it goes.
