Does good cabinet helps better cooling?

    Hello All,

I was thinking to buy a new cabinet for my rig. My question, does a better cabinet helps in keeping CPU and GPU cool? Also, if i update my GPU's driver to the latest does it help to keep the temprature low?

I was thinking of buying this one

It all depends on airflow and the number of fans you have running.

From what I see in the newest cases they are Open Air style. Trying to allow as much fresh air in as possible. As apposed to the old style that took air in the front and then out the back. Getting hotter as it moved through the case
The one I bought for my new build, a In Win Dragon Rider, is basically Open grill work and hole everywhere. With a fan at the front to blow on the HDD cage, one in the back to blow out, one at the top (with another spot for second fan) to blow up, one on the right side that blows on the back of motherboard exactly where the CPU is and then a 220mm fan mounted on the left hand side with grill work all around it. The front bezel is a series of hole to allow air in (like it doesn't already have enough holes in the case).

I myself have run the last 3 PCs I've built with the left hand side off allowing full flow of air to anything that needs it. On this new case I have the left hand side off but I took the 220mm fan and hung that in basically the same spot as it would be if it was mount to the case side. In fact I can't install the left side of the case with the fan mount on it because my CPU heatsink sticks out to far.

After looking at the case you linked to "I" would spend some more money and get a better case. Like the one linked to by StalkerR. In fac IF I had seen that case when I was buying stuff for my new built I would of bought that over the In Win.
But I'd still leave the left hand side off.

It will help some, but your heatsink and fans are more important.

If you do get a case, look for one with a 120mm fan front and rear.

For the same price of $60, I would get this. Actually, it's cheaper---free shipping.

Thanks ignatzatsonic. Also, does updating my card's driver to CCC 11.2 helps with the temprature issue?
