    Video card Troubles

    Hi everyone,

My brother just got a new case for his computer and we seem to be having some troubles...

Basically the built in video card works but his ati card doesnt... this hasnt happened before and it worked the day we put the new case on... so weve gone in and tried everything we could think of - chaning the bios settings to pc-e unplugging fans and led lights - reinstalling the chip updating the hardware list in device manager and nothing is working...

however... there is power going to the chip because when we boot it up i went and check the fan and touched it and it was moving... so right now im am completely confused my only idea is that there isnt enough power going to the chip for it to process graphics - (currently running a 250 watt power supply - 1050 power supply on route)

so the card is an ati radeon xfx hd 4650
hes running vista 32 bit and the motherboard is an oem compaq presario heap of junk
like i said before currently running a 250 watt power supply

oh and im posting this in hope of getting a solution not to hear that he needs better parts i just need a fix

SEEMS YOU HAVENT ENOUGH POWER - this should put your mind at ease as you have the 1050 power supply on route which will be handy for future upgrades or a new machine - recommended power supply 350 - 400watts - thats on the safe side. Go here and read the power consumption & recommendations - HIS Radeon HD 4650 512MB iSilence4 review
