ATI Radeon HD 5670 - Jitter

    Hi,

    Noob here. My system:

    Dell Studio XPS 7100
    Phenom II X6 1045T (2.7 GHz)
    ATI Radeon HD 5670
    6GB DDR3 SDRAM,1333MHz
    Windows 7 Home Premium, 64bit

I am using dual monitors. One is a standard DVI monitor and the other is an HDMI connected projector. During HD playback I get considerable jitter. Scenes with movement are pretty tough to watch. I am a novice when it comes to settings on a graphics card / catalyst control center.

My main goal is smooth video playback for movie watching, even if it is at the expense of graphics resolution.

Please give me some tweaking advice!!

    Are you using WMP?
If so, you may want to try VLC.

I get jitter/jutter on the main monitor and projector. It seems to come when the processor runs. Then it stops. It is usually about 1 second and stops. It is not just on high motion sequences but also on still scenes. It always did it on just one monitor before I got the projector as well.

When I play a very high resolution file / youtube HD, it seems like the computer is struggling for brief instances and then it stops. I would love to know how to set the video card so that it doesn't do this.

I am running the latest k-lite codec pack / media player classic / all other programs are off.

My problem is there seem to be so many variables. Catalyst control center has so many settings that I feel like I need a pro to help me set it.

    Any takers?

    If you don't use them

'Disable' Network controller/Firewire/etc in Bios or device manager or try updating/reinstalling drivers
    Reboot after!

Go back to an ati driver that worked properly! :)
