Why W7 says im in Analog Mode?

I am using W7 Ultimate x64 and I have a MSI R5770 Hawk, and my monitor is a Acer S201HL, they are connected using a DVI-D Single Link cable. When i right click on my desktop and click Change Screen Res. it tells me my display is AcerS201HL(Analog) why is it not digital? sorry if im in the wrong forum. please feel free to move me if need be!

    Hi Cored17,

Is the monitor actually working now?
Are you trying to set up dual screens?

Does your monitor have a button on it (underneath or on the side maybe) that allows you to switch between Analog and Digital.

When you press this button you would normally get a box on the screen saying Digital or Analog depending what you have just switched it too.

thanks for the replies. No dual monitors. and it is working great looks amazing.. there is a input button and when i push it i get a black analog screen because there is nothing connected to that port. Just curious about why it says analog and not digital.

If its working then thats great

From a 'curiosity' point of view, feel free to post a picture or screen shot so we can see where it says this.
