HD 5770 Can I safely run Sapphire HD 5770 on my setup? I have only two upgrade options (XFX) HD 5670 1GB and (Sapphire) HD 5770. Which is the better option keeping in view the expenditure?

The 5770 has twice the stream process as the 5670, 800/400...your psu shows 27 amps on 12 volts,so that should be ok.... so the 5770 is the better deal, unless its more than twice as much
Now Sapphire seems to be dumping their 5xxx series chips first the 5850 for $139, now the 5830 for $109 Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100297L Radeon HD 5830 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card w/ ATI Eyefinity Technology, so I would shop around as much as possible before pulling the trigger.... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number homemade OS windows 7 ultimate 64 bit CPU amd x4 965 Hyper 212 plus 2 120mm 90cfm fans Motherboard Biostar A770E3 Memory 12 gig 4Gx2/2Gx2 Mushkin DDR3 1333 Graphics Card Sapphire 5850 Monitor(s) Displays hanns g 1680X1050 Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard z merc Mouse microsoft wireless 5000 PSU dual Antec 650 & Rosewill 530 watt continuous Case homemade Cooling 4 120mm@50cfm each/2 120mm@90cfm Hard Drives western digital ssd 64 gig + 2 junk Internet Speed dsl |

Ok, meanwhile i have a friend who is willing to sell me his Xfx gtx 260, question is is it a good card or a power sucking demon like 8800gt (which I once had, great performance but terrible power greedy and omg the heat!) | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self built OS Windows 7 Ultimate (x86) SP1 CPU AMD Athlon II X2 260 Motherboard ASUS M5A78L-M LX Memory Corsair 4GB DDR3 Graphics Card MSI R6770 1GB DDR5 Sound Card SteelSeries Siberia USB Sound Card Monitor(s) Displays Dell IN1930 Screen Resolution 1366x768 Keyboard Logitech K200 Mulitmedia Mouse Razer Abyssus Mirror Sp.Ed. For performance flip a coin, they're fairly even with the 5770 edging the 260 in most things. For power the 5770 by a fair bit (30-40W less on average), HIS Radeon HD 5770 1 GB Review - Page 28/34 | techPowerUp | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Me OS Win 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Phenom II x4 955 @ 4 GHz. Hello, Stormy - how are you ?
I saw the link you provided, answers a lot of questions. The GTX 260 i am being offered is going to cost me 1500 rupees less (my country's currency) more or less than a new 5770. I'm really confused, especially about the power consumption/heat issue .. is it worth it (especially as i'm a little short on dough!) | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self built OS Windows 7 Ultimate (x86) SP1 CPU AMD Athlon II X2 260 Motherboard ASUS M5A78L-M LX Memory Corsair 4GB DDR3 Graphics Card MSI R6770 1GB DDR5 Sound Card SteelSeries Siberia USB Sound Card Monitor(s) Displays Dell IN1930 Screen Resolution 1366x768 Keyboard Logitech K200 Mulitmedia Mouse Razer Abyssus Mirror Sp.Ed. In my opinion, the 5770 is best. 1500 Rupees is about 33.00 US. If you will get better performance and use less electricity, I would get the 5770. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Brew - Always under construction OS Windows 7 X64 Professional/Windows 8 CPU intel i7-2600K Motherboard Asus P8Z68 V-Pro/GEN 3 Memory 8GB G.Skill Sniper DDR3-2133 (2X4GB) Graphics Card EVGA 670 2GB Sound Card Asus Xonar Monitor(s) Displays Asus 24" LCD VW246H Screen Resolution 1920X1080 Keyboard Logitech G510 Mouse Logitech G500/Logitech Wireless PSU CORSAIR HX850W Case Cooler Master HAF X Cooling Corsair H100 w/ 4 noctua fans in push/pull.
