    Hi all,

I need some help betcha haven't heard that before lol

Ok well my nephew (4 yrs old) was banging around at my desk and when I went back to my pc, (monitor off, pc on) turned on the monitor and my background only covered 2/3 of the screen and all icons everything was not visible.

Reminded me of what I had on my tv as second monitor when I first hooked up the pc. Lots of problems getting that sorted out too. and I don't remember what I did then either lol.

Only way I could get my pc monitor back to number 1 now was by disconnecting the hdmi out to tv.
My screen is still narrow 2 black bars on either side.
    changing resolution doesn't affect it.
video card is nvidia geforce 9200

Sorry this is probably stupid but until I know how to fix it, it is rocket science..

Pc monitor is listed as 2 and tv as 1

The first thing I'd check are the connections. Make sure that nothing is broken either on the video card or the the monitor connections.

It could be as simple as adjusting your display setting in the software.

Maybe I need to start at the beginning and that's where I need your help.
I have an acer aspire x3400 with 2 displays samsung monitor and samsung tv.
My monitor is 2nd display and my tv is first. that is not the way it was 12 hrs ago..
or it was but my computer display was normal (full screen) and I could just switch sound and nothing else.

when I try to adjust my resolution higher I get a warning and then screen shut down saying 1680X1050 recommended.
My settings don't even go that high.

Try the adjustments under Multiple displays to select the primary display.

Greyed out means that one display is not being detected.
Are both displays plugged in and turned on?
The TV display should be set to the HDMI input.
