nvlddmkm bsod - Nvidia 9800 GT

Hello everyone, I'm glad I found this forum, I hope you can help with such annoying problem I've been dealing with for this long.

A couple of months ago I upgraded my graphics card to an XFX 9800 GT and my PSU to a Corsair TX650w in order too handle the card. I thought everything was perfect til' I got this message of "nvlddmkm. sys stopped working..." while playing MW2. I started having this message everytime I played any game on my pc, so I started looking for a solution to it. Nothing has worked so far, nothing, nor installing any driver, nor using OCCT, nor using Driver Sweeper to install latest Nvidia driver. Nothing. The only thing that seemed to worked was installing Riva Tuner and turning up the card's fan speed, but it only lasted about a week or so without having the nvlddmkm message. I know it has nothing to do with temperature, OCCT show nothing about that subject; I know it's not memory, I ran memtest overnight several times and nothing; I know it's not my power supply, wich is practially new. I'm really desperate, nothing seems to work to solve this problem, and last week I just got my first BSOD while using Google Earth (Google Earth for Christ's sake). Here there are my PC specs and the minidump file. Any help will be much appreciated, I'm about to shoot my pc with my 12 gauge. Thank you.

    Dell Inspiron 530 with:
    Windows 7 Professional x86
    Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 @ 2.33 GHz
    3 GB RAM
    Corsair TX650w PSU
    XFX GeForce 9800GT 512 MB

Thanks again, I hope we can solve this problem.

Hi xcactus and welcome to SF

One dmp file is not much to go on. But as expected, the video driver was blamed.
    Code:
    nvlddmkm.sys Thu Apr 07 23:18:51 2011 (4D9E7E9B)
If a newer driver doesn't help, try an older one (if that's a driver issue at all)
Best to follow this tut to produce more information
    https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

You say the RAM is ok and so are the temperatures?
Another cause for this specific error besides overheating would be defective VIDEO RAM a damaged Graphics card a defective Graphics Slot or even a defective power cable to the card itself.
So take out the card, clean off dust, blow out the slot, inspect the cables and reseat the card carefully.
Maybe even remove the side panel and point a big room fan towards the graphics card to see if a few degrees make a difference.

Those TDR event error messages can be caused by many components.
When you have run diagnostics on the major components as you have and they come up clean then that pushes you closer to the inescapable cause: bad video card.

    Further tests you can try:

You should check all of your connections and open up the sides of the case and blow in a big fan, as SledgeDG suggested, and test.

If you are overclocking anything, reset everything to defaults.

You could try "underclocking" the video card - reduce the GPU and G-RAM clocks to test.

You can test for a bad RAM module by installing just one stick in Slot 1 and testing. Do each stick one at a time.

But if all else tests OK then you have to suspect the card itself. You could try your card in another computer running W7 to see if the problem goes along with the card, or you could try a different card in your computer to see if the problem goes away.
