[HELP] Installing my GeForce 9600 GT

I just bought an MSI motherboard with an onboard ATI graphics.
Everything has been installed from my MSI Driver CD/DVD.
Im about to install my GeForce 9600 GT graphic card but
i've read few info about some problems about this in forums and im really
worried about what will happen so I posted here for me to avoid those problems.

    Most advices are:
    -Uninstall all ATI related Drivers
-Use driver sweeper to completely erase left drivers on the system
-Uninstall ATI Graphic Driver, Restart, install GeForce and install Drivers

    My idea is:
I will format my Hard Drive and dont install ATI drivers
But my concern is, on my Mainboard Driver DVD
Only CHIPSET, AUDIO & LAN drivers are available to install
And if I will install CHIPSET, it will include all ATI stuff including on-board graphic

My mind is really in chaos right now. If im deciding right or wrong?,
Will you guyz HELP me about this and give me the best idea on what to do?!

You should have no problems installing the device over your current ati setup(Since this ati driver should not be handling the pciE slot.)... I don't see the need in formating as a whole. . You might also want to install the latest DirectX you can find. Download your latest card drivers as well and don't use the product cd drivers.

Are you removing an older card or not?

And remember to touch the metal casing before working with your card, static can surely cut your journey short.

    Hope this helps.

    And welcome to the forums.

no sir,. I only have 1 graphic card and its my Geforce 9600GT

but how about doing a format and install audio & lan only from my mainboard driver CD/DVD and then dont install chipset? and then install GeForce ION driver that I got from NVIDIA site (i downloaded the latest WCQL) is that right?

I was too fast on that one, I have edited the post. This card does not use ati drivers.!!

    Sorry.

I'd keep the updated chip set drivers installed for they don't only install the ati vga driver for the main board.

Either way, you should have no problems.

u mean to say sir that my idea will work?

    1) format my HD
    2) install LAN & Audio from my Driver CD/DVD
    3) install ION driver for my GeForce Graphic Card

    right?

That would work either way, there's no need for the format.
