Hello!
I have two cards here. The one is not in-use.
Will it be possible to make them in "one"? Or does they have to be the exact the same! It's Nvidia GTX 280 and 260.
Best Regards,
FredeGail

I belive in Nvidia's case they might have to be the same
I know and understand with ATI tech. you can use one higher and one lower Gpu
example like 5870-5850 x-fire
Nvidia might be able to do the same but since i changed brands im not to familliar anymore let's hope some of the members have a good answer for you
No. They have to be the same GPU type. I'm not sure whether they must have identical VRAM quantities, or whether a mismatched pair would operate at the RAM level of the lesser card.
FAQ
"Can I mix and match graphics cards that have different GPUs?
No. For example, an XXXGT cannot be paired with a XXXGTX in an SLI configuration."
Some people use a second nVidia graphcs card as a dedicated PhysX processor, but I've never tried it.
