Windows 7 - Windows refuse to increase my resolution

| | Windows refuse to increase my resolution i just bought a new computer and it worked fine at 1920x1080 resolution until it suddenly went down to 1024x786. my monitor is a 24" full HD BenQ monitor and im using a NVIDIA GeForce GT 440 graphic card. both have hdmi outputs. but now there is no option to go any higher than 1024x786 in the windows resolution option. in the NVIDIA control panel i can see the full HD resolution as an option in the "change resolution" section. but when i try to apply full HD it does not change anything. for some reason it says that the connector type is a DVI cable... which makes no sense at all. i have tried to update and roll back drives, uninstalled and what not, but to no success and i am about to snap.... this is so annoying and i have been trying to figure out what the heck to do for several hours now... help! |
