    VGA to SCART?

    Hi,

I'm not sure whether this is entirely the right place to ask this, tell me if it isn't, but I was wondering about connecting a laptop (HP G56) to a fairly old TV. The TV has a SCART input not being used at the moment, and I thought maybe I could use this (Hama SCART To VGA cable: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories) cable to connect the laptop's VGA port to it. Is the VGA port an output even? I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium..

    Thanks in advance. :)

One of the other Forums that I participate in had a similar question. Here is the link: View topic - Connecting a laptop to a pc - Windows, Apple, Application, Abandonware and Game Beta Downloads/Repository - BetaArchive

The lead you mentioned, by the way, is for connecting equipment with a SCART output (DVD players, Video Recorders, etc) to a monitor with VGA input. It doesn't specify whether or not the lead would work in the reverse direction, i.e. VGA to SCART.

You're welcome. What is the make and model number of the TV?
