The best driver we have found (the one I'm using on a GTX 260) is the Nvidia 182.6.

Sounds a lot like the Nv4_disp.dll infinite loop error from Windows XP.

Look it up.

There doesnt seem to be one certified fix for it...

I beg to differ - on my pair of 260s the best driver I have found in terms of stability and performance is 185.20 - although where I found it I cannot remember anymore....

windows xp 32bit

i am wondering if you solved the problem.
I am having the same issue on my pc.
I have a nividia gtx 280 and running xp home 32bit, the issue started happening about 6 mouths after using the card so after trying different drivers and rolling back etc i sent the card back on exchange.
i am now using the same brand and card and now after 8 months i am have the same issues again. i am assuming it is a technical issue not software

i have checked the card and it is clean so i am not sure on the reason and the problem occurs commonly on screen resolution changes (game loading and map changing)
but does not always happen?

Build 7048 graphical glitches
I'm getting the following glitches on my screen whenever I click on a pinned icon on the taskbar. I believe it's a graphics driver issue, I'm using the one posted at nvidia website for Windows 7 64bit. (181.71). Anyone has the same problem? I think with the default driver it doesn't do this,...
