    Graphics card or windows 7?

    Hi !
Having a issue with that i can not play bluraymovies on my computer. I have HP dv6 6069 with intel i7 2630, 8gb ram, intel hd graphics (switchable) ati radeon 6770 and windows 7 premium x64. I bought a LG BE12LU30 burner to play my movies. I have tried 3 software players to play my movies....Powerdvd 9, Arcsoft and Corel media theatre 5 but none of them can play my bluraymovies despite they are made for that. Powerdvd have a program BD Advisor that checks compability and hardware to play bluray on your computer. The program set markings in my intel hd graphics and the processor i7 2630? it dont detects my radeon 6770 at all. It's is a little funny that my other now 3 years older computer can play bluray with ease....grrrrI dont know where the problem is....Windows 7, my bluray burner, graphics card and so on is uppgraded with latest firmware/drivers but that does not help. The blurayburner can write/read data, but not play movies. Any suggestions?

Yes, i have tried the drive on my old computer and it worked flawless. All my regular dvd's, movies works fine on both computers, but not bluray. When i try to play bluray, a message is shown that "An active program is not compatible with certain visual elements in windows and switches to Vista basic" I Dont know which program that is? I have closed my firewall, my antivirus and spyware program to see if they are blocking anything, but no luck there....And that it switch to vista basic does not help anything.

He just said Blu-Ray works fine in his other computer, meaning he used the drive on the other computer, as it is an external drive. So the Blu-Ray player itself is fine.

Which program exactly gives you the error "An active program is not compatible with certain visual elements in Windows and switches to Aero Basic"?

I don't get it. Is your computer a desktop or laptop? Your Intel i7 2630(QM) is a laptop processor, but your AMD Radeon 6770 is a desktop graphics card. This doesn't make any sense. Could you please clarify before continuing to help you?

    Hi again !
I can switch between Ati Radeon 6770 and Intel HD graphics for energy saving when it runs on battery. My main gole was to watch bluray with Radeon 6770 because it was a better graphic card. I have solved it. The key was to choose Intel HD as main graphic card and also when it runs on battery. When i filled out both squares in the graphic adjusment settings it all worked out. I had prefered my radeon because it would offer me a better picture with more settings, but when that does not work i have to rely on intel instead...

You mean AMD Radeon HD 6770M? :)
You can try with mpclassic http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/History.html
    Or mpcstar http://www.mpcstar.com/changelog.php

I doubt using your Radeon would give you a better picture quality for Blu-Rays then using your Intel GPU. Just saying.
