Just a lot of help needed on screen resolution

Okay, well first off my screen resolution changed from 1440:900 to 800:600, how can i fix this?
I have already tried going to change screen resolution from the control panel, and the option that i want isn't there. I have also tried a system restore, and that didn't work either.
On top of that, i re-downloaded DirectX 9.0c on my comp. But that didn't help either.

what else is there that i can do?
and what info is needed to help me?

p.s. sorry if this is in the wrong location. If it is, place relocate?

Hi wolfroke, welcome to 7 forums, is there any chance you know which type of graphics card you have? this will enable us to help you get the correct drivers for you to download, it is definitely a driver issue.

Well, unfortunately, if the driver isn't installed, the system won't tell you, so first of all, we need to see if windows can get you an update for it, open the start menu and go to all programs, now look for windows update (it should be the one above the folders), now see if there are any optional updates in that list, if there is and it's a graphics card update then go ahead and install it, if not then we might need to find out the model number of your PC.

To find your GPU name, even though the driver is not installed, you can install DriverMax, and then select the option to find missing hardware. DriverMax - free driver updates
