GeForce 6200 Code 43

Hello there, just got done installing the Windows 7 Beta and updating all of my drivers.

There's one that's still giving me troubles though; my graphics card. I've got an XFX GeForce 6200 512MB AGP 8x. This is the second time I've had an issue with this card. I powered off my system, plugged the card in, and rebooted. I didn't touch anything in the BIOS, as my old Radeon 9250 worked fine before.
I log on to Windows, and I get the 'Installing Device Driver' or whatever popup. It runs, installs, says everything is fine, but I need to restart for it to take effect, so I do. I get back into Windows, expecting some Aero windows to greet me, but no. In Device Manager, I have the little yellow /!\. It says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

This also happened in Windows Vista Ultimate SP1.

The rest of my system:
Intel P4 3.2GHz with HT
Asus P4P800-VM Motherboard
1.5GB Corsair ValueSelect RAM
250GB WD SATA HDD

Please help! I'm willing to do anything to this machine, like I said, it's a brand new install so I've got nothing important on it.

Hi, Ezcal, and welcome to the forums.

You are probably getting a conflict from the old ATI drivers. Use Phyxion.net - Downloads - 1.5.5 - Driver Sweeper to remove the old ATI drivers.

See Phyxion.net - Driver Sweeper for instructions on how to use - I *highly* recommend using the app in Safe Mode.

Well, I'd love to go download that program... Unfortunately those links are broken, and the main web page seems to be down.
Is there some other program I could go download that will do the same thing?

I have the exact same problem.
I use XP, then I installed Seven (clean installation not upgrade).
I got this error too. Then I installed the drivers that came in the CD. Same problem. I read in NVIDIA's site that in windows update would be download a windows 7 compatible version of your driver. I downloaded, installed and I got the same error. I tried installing in compatibility mode and nothing. Always the same error. So no Windows Aero, no videos in good quality, no nothing.

What should I do?

edit-- WTH I wasn't in this thread?? I was in Geforce 6200 Code 43 thread GeForce 6200 Code 43

Is your card AGP or PCIE?

I found this Driver problem With Geforce 8800 Gtx Gfx card on Vista 32 and 64 bit in PnPx
Not sure if its the same as your problem or not.
I suggest to look at Nvidia's support page as Ben McGregor suggests.

I wish you luck.

I removed your other post - please don't make multiple posts about the same thing in different threads.

I had the same problem just yesterday and now its FIXED!! heres how you do it.

PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE A TEMPING ANY OF THIS

1. Navigate to Device Manager.
2. Right click on the Nvidia GeForce 6200 and click uninstall. DO NOT RESTART YOUR COMPUTER AFTER IT RE-INSTALLS OR YOU WILL HAVE TO REPEAT STEPS 1-2.
3. Now download:
http://us.download.nvidia.com/Window...glish_whql.exe
4. This is the 32 Bit version, if you need the 64 please reply.
5. If your using IE click "RUN" instead of Save, if your using Firefox, on the downloads windows (when its finished downloading) right click and click "OPEN"
6. Now Click "Yes" to All of the security warnings. Then will prompt you to the installer for your driver.
7. Once the installation is finished restart your computer and check the device manager to see if it worked.
8. Now when using windows update DO NOT update your drivers or you will have to repeat this process again.

*error messages have been reported with this. if you get one please post it and i will try to resolve it.

I did all of those things. Went to device manger clicked uinstall, windows reinstalled it, I download 181.20_geforce_winvista_32bit_english_whql.exe, installed, restarted and I got the same error =(
I'm goin' crazy.

--------------EDIT------------------

I installed an old Geforce FX 5200 128MB, download the vista drivers and its working fine, with aero and everything. In dxdiag says that this card have 460MB, but it doesn't o.o
Anyway, i'm still loking for a solution for the geforce 6200.
