    Flickering problem - MSI R4890-T2D1G OC 1GB

I just loaded Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit RTM on my system, clean install. I loaded the ATI 9.9 64-bit drivers and Control Center. When i go to the Overdrive window, the GPU speed reads 240, yet my card is rated at 880 stock. If I overclock it, the Test says passed, but nothing changes in the window displaying the stock speed. I get an annoying flicker on all the window borders and i have to click on things several times for them to execute when the flicker is happening. Once the program/game starts, it si fine. Any ideas????

Your card is operating properly, in 2D the right clock speed is 240MHz when in 3D it clocks up to its higher clocks.

Also you should never use the 'test' built into Overdrive, its flawed and always gives erroneous results.

Also in 2D the voltage supplied to the GPU is lower then in 3D, so when coupled with your manual clock settings of 880MHz its bound to give graphical errors.

Thanks rflair, I was kind of learning that way, just wanted to make sure. Ever heard of the flickering problem? I heard that the AI setting should be turned off, as it can cause some havoc. Is there a better utility, such as Rivatuner that you would recommend? Thanks in advance!
