ati 4850 super slow on 7 fast on xp

hi when i ran the re5 bench mark on windows 7 DX9 version and on xp i got full speed 60fpsbut on 7 im getting 10-15 fps. (look at the screenie) i really wanna run this with DX 10. and if the benchmark is goig slow on 7 so will the actual game. is there anyway i can fix this? im positive this is a 7 problem but other people are getting full speed.

(another question that i have )
is there a possible way that i can make the AA higher in games. in game i only see 8x when nvidia users can choose up to 16XQ.

Wich brand is your HD 4850? (ex. Sapphire)

Did you actually tried to run the game, or only the benchmark? I´ve seen tons of games lagging in benchmarks and menu screens, as long as the gameplay stood fast and solid.

AA can go to 16x or more with ATI too, with the proper cards. Theres yet not many games that will give you the choice of 16x AA. You can force it in CCC, but i would not choose that as my best choice, only in a few games works well.

Games seem to perform well in Windows 7 (i only try the x64 versions normally) and all major bugs and problems ocour in other o´s too, so i would sugest you check you have the proper drivers and install them in safe mode after you uninstall your older ones and see the results.

And be alert for new driver releases.

    Cheers

Like you already said, everyone else is getting full speeds, so why can you have too? You really have to switch back to Vista?

I had that graphic card on the first W7 Betas, and got zero problems with it. Sapphire is an excelent brand, providing fast and durable cards, i see no point in not getting a workaround to your problem.

P.s. - Wich game isnt out yet..?
