BUYING HELP!!! Radeon 6850 or 6790?

Hi everyone :) i wanna ask few questions and want some good advise and suggestions on buying a new Graphics Card. 3 weeks ago i sold out my XFX GeForce 9600GT 512MB DDR3 and i bought a MSI GTS 450 Cyclone 1GB and i installed the card and tried some games like AC: Brotherhood, Bulletstorm, NFS: Shift, Crysis and few more... overall it was a good card as compared to my old 9600GT but for some reason i was'nt satisfied with it's performance coz of it's Price (Here things are expensive) and when one of my online friend told me that he got XFX Radeon 6790 (Dual Fan Version) which is far better than GTS 450 in performance and even it easilly beats the GTX 550Ti in almost every Benchmark and Game which is slightly better than a GTS 450. So after 3 days i called the guy on store and told him about this and he asked me to use it for some days and as soon as the 6790 will be available at there store he will replace it without any problem. After a week i went back to the store and returned the product but the 6790 is'nt still available here at any store due to some shipments problem and i checked the whole market. Now the real confusion starts today when i bumped into some threads in other forums by googling and people are saying that the AMD 6850 is a better card than 6790 and also found out that 6850 uses less power under full-load than a 6790 (which uses 2 x 6pin for some reason and also it's based on with defective parts) and GTS 450 as well and beats both of them single handedly. Now i'd like to know should i put some more money and go for the Radeon 6850?

P.S. I'll be buying the card from XFX, HIS or Sapphire.

Here's a link showing Power Consumption of all cards... and yes GTX 550Ti, GTS 450, AMD 6790 are consuming more power than a 6850 under Loads

This is a tough time for bargains as the 7xxx series is not out yet, but the 5xxx series is doing a vanishing act.... The 6950 is equal to the 5850 @ about $230 stateside....the 6870 is equal to the 5830 @ $180 stateside....the 6850 falls between the 5770/5830 @ $160 stateside.....the 6790 is equal to the 5770....@ $140 stateside....no screaming deals here....

The gts 450 goes for $115 here....

All of the cards are a step to three steps higher, but they are also a good jump in price too....if I had to buy a card today the best for cost would be the 6870, but I would not be happy about it....

The 5770 are available here for $110....but that would be a small jump up....

The 6850 will cost me around $210 - $220 USD and the 6870 is between $255 - $260 USD. I payed exactly $162 for the MSI GTS 450 Cyclone 1GB and the AMD 6790 is between $170 - $180 USD and prices varies between figures due to different Vendors. Now you can imagine the prices and taxes we have to pay here for me the max i can get is 6850 also according to several reviews that would be my best bet for the power consumption as it will consume a very less power than a GTS 450 under full loads and i will have a little room left for power. What say you?

The 6850 will equal a GTX460.....Your PSU should be good to go....The 6850 is a recommended card at the $175 price point.....if there is no way to get the 6870 then a 6850 is the way to go, but check on the prices and availability for a 5830....

Thanks Ivan for the advice :) much appreciated. I've decided to go for the 6850 coz of it's less power consumption and better performance than 6790, 550Ti and it's the only option that is within my range now.
