while this one is not so keen on video, seems ok in games

what's the result with the win7 preformance? Hi Migube,
What's the result with the Windows 7 performance? I'm particularly interested in raising my 1.0 score in the 3d graphics...
I downloaded your driver but couldn't find the inf file nor did I try to install it (mine is stable enough, so...). | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Compaq Evo n610c OS Windows 7 CPU 2.0GHz Memory 1.0Gb Graphics Card ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 |

hi migube, iam using the 6.4 catalyst drivers on my panasonic cf-73 and it works fine, no shut down problems. the driver has only one problem with youtube fullscreen videos! does your vista driver works better with youtube videos? greetz | My System Specs | | |

Hi Nismo2005,
I had the same problem myself with the fullscreen videos. Managed to work around it, by clicking in the video with the right button of the mouse and unsellecting the "video acceleration by hardware" or something.
Now I can open it in fullscreen, but avoid using it to much because it's using the main processor instead of the graphics processor. If you don't take care or your processors fan isn't clean enough to refresh it, it'll burn... Nevertheless, it works!
on the other hand, I still think I rather use the old xp in this laptop. At least, until someone finds a true 7 driver for this card that allows the 3d graphics card to work properly as it does with xp... My laptop will thank it.
It's a shame, though cause it is definitely proven that it works perfectly in every way but the video card (due to the lack of a proper driver)... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Compaq Evo n610c OS Windows 7 CPU 2.0GHz Memory 1.0Gb Graphics Card ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 |

Hi Nismo,
I'm afraid of that too... That's why I'm considering going back to the "old" xp... Unfortunatelly those that sold our laptops don't really care about them anymore... even if they're not so old or have the right performance. that's that...
Nevertheless, I keep hoping some stubborn geek with better knowledge than us, can work around this and write a driver from parts of new drivers combined with the old xp driver... (can't really say if this is an easy thing to do or not, but it sure would be nice if someone did it...).
I'll keep on "listening" this forum and hoping it comes true. I suggest you do the same. In the mean time, I'll try to find some courage to go back to the old xp and save my processor from burning like hell... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Compaq Evo n610c OS Windows 7 CPU 2.0GHz Memory 1.0Gb Graphics Card ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 |

Hi all,
I went back to XP from win 7 because of high CPU use for graphics, but now I notice that XP also uses lots of CPU for graphics (about 35-55%.)
Have I got something wrong, drivers or settings?
T42, 2GB ram, Radeon 7500.
Thanks.

ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 on IBM T42 problem

I faced the same issue with Vista however it was solved by choosing the ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 driver from the windows and it worked fine (without Aero of course) and it supported movies and S-Video and everything. I tried to do the same thing on Windows 7 but i didnt find the ATI 9000 driver available, i tried many other methods like different xp drivers but all failed and freezed my pc when i tried to do the rating... So if anyone know how i can fix this problem i will be really pleased... Thanks a lot...
Did you have any luck solving this problem? I have the same problem now. I can not set up external monitor... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number IBM T42 2373-JTU OS Windows 7 CPU 1.7G Memory 2G Graphics Card VGA 7500 |

Did you have any luck solving this problem? I have the same problem now. I can not set up external monitor... I am sorry to disappoint you, but our T42 or let us say ATI Mobility Radeon 7500, is only completely supported with XP, I recently tried to do a one last attempt to make this vga work with Windows 7, and i have first tried the IBM ATI Driver, but kept having a blue screen. I even tried a DNA Driver (Modded one) that is supposed to support our vga with windows 7, and still did not work. I then used Drivermax and got a driver from their database, and it is working better than the IBM one, no blue screens so far, however the ratings are 1.0 and 1.0, instead of 1.9 and 1.0. And no external monitor working, and i even tried Generals game, which used to work flawlessly on xp, it did not work! So, just use xp and stay away from trouble! if u r too much into windows 7 for its appearance, u can use a theme or something. I think this is my last attempt to make this vga work with 7, i will sadly revert back to xp. There is one solution, is to buy an external vga, which i havent found yet in the county i live in, UAE (Dubai). So in summary, if u want to use all ur vga's features (like some few games that works on it like generals, or to use it to watch movies or work on an external monitor) either buy an external vga or just use xp.
If I came up with something new, which i doubt, i will post it here. Otherwise dont expect something will change.
