Windows 7 - ATI Mobility Radeon 7500

Anybody have an follow-up comments after trying Win7 out for a while on an older laptop? I'm thinking about putting 7022 or 7048 (when available) on my Dell 600m (Pentium M 1.5Ghz, 1.5GB RAM, Radeon 9000 64MB).

Other than that (I have an ATI 7500, not a 9000), nothing new here. All works well. I am surprisingly excited about Windows 7. It works really well on both my "old" laptop and my overclocked (2.66 -> 3.8) quad core. Way better than Vista.

In case anyone's still reading this, I installed 7048 last night and it automatically detected my Radeon 9000. I can put up a screenshot of the Device Properties screen if anyone's interested. I've already traded PMs with ozeinab87 and he's going to see if he can get the 9000 driver to work for his 7500. If it works, everyone should be happy.

How did you get hold of x86 built 7048?

Great news, if it works on ozeeinab87's 7500 I will have to upgrade to 7048 as well.

okay guys, just as Scooter70 said, i will try the 9000 driver he got... the thing is that although i am using the 7048 now i couldnt find the ATI radeon 9000 driver in the windows drivers database (manually), however, Scooter70 will pull the driver from his system and send them to me, and then lets hope it will work as good as it should be...

My radeon 9600 series driver is now included in 7048 and no longer pre-release, no need to download from win update now.

Waiting for catalyst 9.3...

Seems like the issues have been fixed in build 7048. I can run the WEI score without crashing. The score completes without any problems and my score got updated.

I'm using IBM T42 with Mobility 9000 drivers for Mobility 7500 card.

did u use the vista drivers? and does the video still crashes (eventhough i doubt it will since it did not crash while running WEI)?
