wmv videos play fine for me in 7057. However, I tried a DVD and it didn't work. I could hear the audio but the screen was just black. I had to pull the battery.

Anybody get DVDs to work?

I had that happen to me on an AVI playing in WMP. It worked the first time in actual size. When I did full screen it played fine. Second time I tried this AVI, it worked in actual size and resizing gave me audio with black screen and I had to shut it down because none of the keys worked.

I restarted and playing it in Media Player classic in actual and full screen and both worked without a problem.

I haven't had a problem with mkv's in media player classic yet.

Hi, all
Thanks for all the feedback that you gave.
I have just installed 7057 on my IBM T42 with ATi Radeon 7500 and the driver installed ok with the directions of tilkov:
Quote:
Download this driver: Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire (modded Catalyst 6.2) and extract it to C:\. Go to Device Manager, then Update Driver on the VGA adapter -> Browse ... -> Let me pick ... -> Have disk ... -> Browse ... and open CX_30152.inf in 2KXP_INF folder of the extracted driver. Press Next, allow the driver to be installed and reboot.
But up to now I didn't find any way to make the Catalyst or the ATi Control panel work
Spacesurfer, tilkov did you guys manage to make the ATI Cp work at all ?
Thanks in advance!
Best Regards,
Al

alligator,

i don't use the ATI control panel.

I don't see anything to gain from it.

Also, have you downloaded the 9000 drivers for Lenovo site instead of using the modded drivers? You might be able to get cp to run by using setup.exe instead of pointing to the drivers folder from device manager.

Video Playback is just fine,
Windows assessment went OK too, gave me of course 1.0 (gaming is 1.0) Graphics is 1.9
But I really need the ATI panel in order to tune the colors.
Anyone to have succeeded there.

No, ATI Control Panel from this driver (v6.2) doesn't work on 7/Vista, only on XP. Windows disables it, stating: This program has known compatibility issues with your version of Windows.
You might be able to use a control panel setup extracted from newer version of Catalyst, but i'm not sure it will support older cards. I will test it now and report back.

Unfortunately, ATI CCC from the latest Vista driver (9.2) made my computer BSOD at startup, at boot screen no less. I didn't know CCC installs kernel drivers, thought it was all user-space. Restoring from image, and won't test the Seven beta driver from ATI, as the control center there is of limited functionality.

Hi guys,
I have been fighting with the ATI control panel all night without success.
I really need it since the default colors of the LCD matrix of my IBM T42 are very pale and need tuning to get it picture right
Did anyone succeed to get it running.
I had it running on Vista (unfortunately I dunno how I did it, i never succeeded runing it second time, now I and experimenting with a second HDD for the win vista and Windows 7 isntalls, I don;t want to break the current working vista, most probably I wont get the video right again ... so many experiments, I'm sick of it )
Best regards,
