ATI Mobility Radeon 7500

Hello everyone. I successfully installed the new Windows 7 build 7000 32 bit on my Thinkpad T42. So far, eveything is working fine, however there is a major issue here which is the VGA. I have ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 32mb, I know that it doesnt support Aero. I faced the same issue with Vista however it was solved by choosing the ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 driver from the windows and it worked fine (without Aero of course) and it supported movies and S-Video and everything. I tried to do the same thing on Windows 7 but i didnt find the ATI 9000 driver available, i tried many other methods like different xp drivers but all failed and freezed my pc when i tried to do the rating... So if anyone know how i can fix this problem i will be really pleased... Thanks a lot...

i installed 7 on my sony pcg-z1 laptop with ati mobility radeon as well. works fine using the standard vga adapter - but no 3d etc. i read that the 9000 driver from vista worked w the 7500 - has anyone tried to pull that from vista and install on 7? i never upgraded to vista else i would have tried. if that works, would appreciate someone emailing me the drivers. thanks! i'll keep you guys posted on what i find out.

hey wldct7, i have thought of what u said but i had to use my laptop for some work so i rolled back to xp, however I am planning to install 7 again on an external hard disk and try to do what u suggested... there is a slim possibility this will work, but u never know until you try... so i will keep you updated about the driver... Those idiot notebook manufacturers, cant they just make our life easier by providing at least drivers supported by the new OS's...

I've got a Dell Inspiron 5100 with a P4 2.66GHz, 1GB of RAM, 40GB HDD, and a Mobility Radeon 7500.

I hope they allow backwards compatibility for some drivers. At least make them run as well as they did in XP. At least DVD acceleration.

A compatibility mode would be good for DX7 and higher cards. Anything less deserves to be pruned. I really don't care about Aero, but Windows 7 runs pretty darn good on this laptop, besides the display. Oh, and it uses 100mb LESS memory than Vista. Wow.

Win7 Beta

Hi,
I have the same problem with a Compaq Evo N800c which also has a ATI Mobility Radeon 7500.
On Windows Vista I used the XP drivers (which I found on the internet atiixpag.inf.zip) with optimal performance.
Alas, this drivers will not install on Windows7 anymore

I also tried Mobilty Radeon 7500 Vista Driver |
but this is causing a bluescreen after reboot.
Lets hope there will be an update for this driver....

I will try this hint this evening:

http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/For...-6b863f9075a2/

Download The Vista Driver With OpenGl and all acceleration and no bluescreens here
: Mobilty Radeon 7500 Vista Driver |

-----------------------------------------------------------
Go to control panel > system > device manager > rigt click on your current
display driver (defualt Standard VGA) and click update driver > browse my
computer for driver software > then browse to the directory and click
include subfolders it will search and install the driver. This driver
supports Opengl direct 3D hardware acceleration. It supports aditional
textures. These drivers are very close to omega drivers quaulity. And there
is no Blescreens ever.

if anyone has vista installed on another computer you can see if it has the "mobility radeon 9000" driver. i don't unfortunately. thats what i've read most have done to get the 7500 to work properly on vista. you can go to update driver and uncheck compatible hardware and should show a list there. if so, you can find out where the drivers are under properties and driver details. maybe you can pull em and put em back in Windows 7?
