Try running your current version in Compatibility Mode
i ran it in compatibility mode.... but the problem persists.... adobe audition 3 worked in my frnd's desktop (Windows 7) without this problem.... Your friend probably has a completely different hardware setup with a different Graphic card. Here Is A Good mid range card if your budget could be stretched. The better GFX card you have, the more GFX load is taken from the CPU, freeing up some resources for you.
