    geforce 8800gtx help


    i think my card is starting to fail coz i get artifacts screen freeze then no signal but when
    i restart the computer the graphic card is fine if i run a stress test will that tell me that it is failling

    It does sound like the card is on it's last legs. I would also open the case and blow out all fans and openings then pay close attention to the cards fan if it has one. If all is clean and clear then I would begin to save or shop for the next upgrade and if you need help with suggestions we love to shop with other peoples money.....lol.

    but i did a stress test with furmark and it passed with no artifacts at all

    Well this is a stretch but do you have another cable to try? And when did this start happening? Have you added any software, is there a possibility of a virus or malware have you run a deep scan in safe mode? Maybe try a restore back point before this began happening?

    yes i do but sure if the stress test passed with no atifacts and no problems i started happen 2but only happen twice everytime i restarted it was fine

    no malware or virus i just updated my drivers for graphics card now the weird thing is every time it happenend so far it was when i was on firefox 5

    Excellent now you need to get rid of it and maybe things will return to normal, keep us advised !
