    D3D9 Overlay: Not Supported

    Hy!

I have recently noticed that my DxDiag TXT says 'D3D9 Overlay: Not Supported'.
Why is this happening? I reinstalled DirectX 9.0c and DirectX End-User Runtime, but the problem isn't solved. I think this shouldn't be like this...
    My full DxDiag TXT.

Is the current driver straight from amd/ati or from a manufacturer or disc?

It is straight from ATI's downloads page.

I have this issue too on my laptop with an ATI Mobility Radeon 5470 HD. Has anyone resolved this issue? and what is D3D9 Overlay? (I have googled "what is D3D9 Overlay" and came here).

Direct 3d version 9 , an overlay... well it's just one of those graphics things. If you really want to know.
Video overlay - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Also known as direct x 9c
If the overlay is the problem the best immediate suggestion I have with nothing else to go on is to install the full redistributable for direct x. the ati driver may be assuming it's been installed even though windows update still doesn't do directx for some reason... don't know why it's made by microsoft.
