    ACEEvent logs

    hi i just installed the ATI latest driver 11.6 and just checking into the ACEEvent log there are looooaaads of errors, well they are catalogued as information on the eventlog viewer.... Why is this? I just down loaded the Catalyst control center (the 80MB file) there are errors such as

    0000000028: 2011-06-21 22:02:14:995 Exception <Load>: Could not load file or assembly 'CLI.AIB.TutorialInfoCentre.Tutorial.Dashboard' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
    Exception Called by: ATI.ACE.LOG.Foundation.Services::LoadAssembly processID:02972 threadID: ( ) domainName:(CCC.exe ) assemblyName: (LOG.Foundation, Version=3.5.4161.41010, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=90ba9c70f846762e)

    does anyone know what this information means

    The event log spamming bug was apparently introduced a few versions ago. Aside from being annoying, it is safe to ignore.

    Supposed to be fixed in 11.7,

    Till then going to Services and disabling the AMD External Event Utility should make it stop, without affecting anything (or at least everything still works on mine with it disabled).

    @stormy
    disabling the AMD external event utility (in Services) disables event writing to windows logs. however, the bug continues to flood the ACE event log (under Applications and Services Log in Event Viewer). the ACE error events are categorized as informational.

    aside from cli implementation errors in the ACE log, the upgrade to cat 11.6 (from 10.9) resulted in event id 10010 errors (DCOM). disabling the AMD external event utility fixed it.

    here's hoping that cat 11.7 does away with the ACE event log altogether, as these "errors" do not affect gpu performance.
