Go for the 550 ti, it is close in the name, but that is a high-range gfx card, you can always OC it later. The preOCd card would have considerably shorter lifetime, though it has a few years of guarantee | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built PC OS Windows 7 Enterprise x64 no SP CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz 36°C Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. I'd also advise against the purchase of the factory OCed card, so go for the 550ti. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom/DIY OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel C2D E8400@4Ghz OC Motherboard ASUS P5Q-E, bios 2101 Memory 4x2GB Kingston HyperX 8500@1066Mhz Graphics Card Nvidia GTS450 OC Sound Card Onboard SoundMax Monitor(s) Displays Samsung Syncmaster 17" Screen Resolution 1280x1024 Mouse Gigabyte M6900 PSU Corsair TX-750 V2 Case Custom Tower Cooling Air: Arctic Cooling 2xF8 & F12; Akasa AK-968, 2xAK-HD-BL Hard Drives WD6402AAEX-640GB(system), WD10EALX-1TB(storage), other external disks & docking stations Internet Speed 10M/1M |

A GTX550 Ti is a more powerful card. FYI: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 550 Ti AMP! Edition Review - Page 1/27 | techPowerUp
EVGA make good products and their RMA support is second to none. However, any OC makes a negligible difference over reference clocks IMO. You can OC to these clocks easily using programs such as MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision.
Good luck. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number N/A OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel i7 2600K@4.6Ghz Motherboard Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z Memory G Skill DDR3 12800 DDR3 RipJaws 16Gb Graphics Card EVGA GTX480 Tri SLI Sound Card SoundBlaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro Monitor(s) Displays 3 * Dell U2711 Screen Resolution 7680x1440 Keyboard Microsoft Sidewinder X4 Mouse Logitech G1 Optical PSU Silverstone ST1500 Case Corsair Obsidian 800D Cooling Koolance CPU-360 : Koolance VID-480 : Koolance 360x3 + 120x1 Hard Drives 2 * OCZ Vertex 3 120Gb

It is, but there are known cases of failure with the 400 series & especially OCed cards from the series. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom/DIY OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel C2D E8400@4Ghz OC Motherboard ASUS P5Q-E, bios 2101 Memory 4x2GB Kingston HyperX 8500@1066Mhz Graphics Card Nvidia GTS450 OC Sound Card Onboard SoundMax Monitor(s) Displays Samsung Syncmaster 17" Screen Resolution 1280x1024 Mouse Gigabyte M6900 PSU Corsair TX-750 V2 Case Custom Tower Cooling Air: Arctic Cooling 2xF8 & F12; Akasa AK-968, 2xAK-HD-BL Hard Drives WD6402AAEX-640GB(system), WD10EALX-1TB(storage), other external disks & docking stations Internet Speed 10M/1M |
