Samsung Syncmaster B2030 - no option to set resolution to 1600 x 900

    Hi

Not sure I have this in the right thread - I have a Samsung SyncMaster B2030 and I am trying to set the res. to 1600 x 900 but there is no option to do it! I have attached a screen shot - if anyone wants anymore info, please let me know (I included the computers properties and device manager in the screen shot)

    Thanks
    Leon

    Thats the problem I think...

The device manager is showing the correct monitor but the res. settings are showing a different incorrect model.

did you go to the long list of modes under 'advanced settings'?

R click desktop -> screen resolution -> advanced settings ->list all modes

then it's a function of your built in video and how they implemented. best u can do is update your video driver and see if it appears.

any resolution you set that meets your monitors 1.77 (or 16:9 if u prefer) aspect ratio will look ok.

find one that you have that meets the monitors aspect ratio. divide the bigger of the numbers by the smaller. if u get 1.77 it matches ur monitor.

ur getting the popup because you're overdriving your monitor and it's telling yo not to hurt it.
