Windows 7: Latest AMD Drivers cause SEVERE flickering

Latest AMD Drivers cause SEVERE flickering

I am using an ATI Radeon HD 5770 with WIndows 7 64-bit.

I just today updated my videocard's drivers (and the whole suite) and am now experiencing SEVERE screen flickering. Even now, as I am typing, the horizontal flickering is happening with almost every letter (also when I'm not doing anything).

The flickering seems semi-random, and it happens more when I am active, but still continues even if I am not. And can take up anywhere from 1-80% of the screen (from the bottom up).

ANd I don't know if this helps, but at first it was my secondary monitor, but now it's my main that is having the issues. Their order switched while I tinkered with the suite VGA settings for maximum refresh rate and resolution for each monitor. During this time, the monitor label "2" jumped from the secondary to the primary monitors, along with the flickers (so anything labeled as "1" seems fine, while "2" flickers constantly).

Any ideas or solutions? I was unable to find anything through the AMD/ATI website, and re-installing the drivers did nothing.

EDIT: Just played with the resolution/refresh rate settings and now the flickering jumped back to my secondary monitor (still marked as "1"). So apparently the "2" has nothing to do with it.
