2nd 2nd monitor broke but cant disabale extended desktop

I worked with 2 monitor displays attached to my PC extending the desktop view across both, but one of them has broke, now only using one display I have an annoying issue that my desktop workspace still appears to be extended, and as such certain pop ups from programs I use are still appearing in the extended area which I can no longer use.

The display/ screen resolution options with Win 7 seem very limited I cant work out how to get around this

I've just checked again running my mouse pointer around the edge of the screen it is not extended anymore (I uninstalled the broken monitor drivers and rebooted) but I still have the issue with the program option pop up menus not appearing in my screen (I have to just press the ENTER key to close the options or the program locks up). I'm feeling I may have to re install the software I guess
