    How did your 6870+6770 crossfire perform? Was your 6770 the model with 1GB DDR3? And 6870 w 1 GB DDR5 I assume?

You are the only literature on this so please let me know. Before the trolls come of course we know it is not an ideal config and that the lower bit rate of the 6770 may hinder performance. Is it possible to run the 6870 as the GPU and slave the 6770 to run strictly physics rendering? I need more general stability and would be thrilled with 10 more FPS. I know many cards can provide this with no problem but I am trying to work with these two until I find exactly what I want.

If the different memory types ddr3 v ddr5 hinder the config impossible, I would love a technical answer as to why if anyone could explain.

Please let me know what you know! I will greatly appreciate it.

how are those cards even compatible ?

I ran 2x 6870 Xfire and the 6770 is a newer version of the HD5770 ? I assume the 6870 is being Bottlenecked by the 6770 those cards were never ment to match up

Also comparing this set up to a 6990 is Insane that Gpu will burn the house down even with your two GPU's

I would like to also add you could do a Nvidia gpu for PhysX and HD6870 for standard play PhysX is a Cpu instruction but Nvdia Gpus have there cores built on separate technology for that purpose

I would look into maybe a 560ti and a Hd6870 it is possible to make those 2 play nice together

Crossfire is MEANT for identical video cards, so is SLI.

Clown around outside that and you take your chances and likely not doing you much good at all.

I have zero personal experience on it, I get one card and all I ever need.
