    Burn a Disk

Brand new to Windows 7 but am going crazy because everytime I try to open the disk in my DVD drive I get a pop up box headed burn a disk asking how do I want to use this disk. I simply want to read the contents. How do I turn this nuisance off?

    Hiya froggie, welcome to SevenForums.

Your problem is that Autoplay is set to automatically burn a disk when a new blank/writable disk is inserted.

    To fix this:
    Click Start>Default Programs
    Click "Change Auto Play Settings"
Change the options for blank CD/DVD to whatever you want it to do.
