The 10.8 once again failed as expected with the older Legacy to XP compatible titles suggesting you may just have that right on the money! Since gaming is big business and game titles move along much faster then versions of Windows for sure they are simply interested in what works for the latest in that area apparently.
Eventually when enough complaints are seen and people start going elsewhere they will then be saying: "woo hold on a minute! We now have something to patch this!"?! The problem however is seeing the "graphics driver can't be loaded" error when simply following the advise of copying the OpenGL driver into a game's folder with not just one old title alone.
Besides all that however other things should be working well for the non gamers. For those that like to run the "golden oldies" every so often however the 10.4 would seem to be the last to see what the oldies require. | My System Specs |

Drivers include next-gen GPU codes Quote: AMD brought a handful of new features and improvements to the table yesterday with the release of its latest Catalyst graphics driver suite. In an unusual reveal, it seems one of the files also contained code-names for as many as 35 unreleased products which upon further inspection appear related to the upcoming Radeon HD 6000 Series of GPUs, otherwise known as Southern Islands. "If the shoe fits wear it!" Like I was saying their focus is not on the older things but on looking forward.
The survey option is one way to push an issue however on things like the OpenGL problems as far as enticing them to work on a solution. These companies typically won't worry about someone's gaming favorites when out 3-5yrs. or older without enough people making some similar mention of the problems they run into. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64, XP Mode, W8 RP VM, Linux Mint Debian 2nd OS HD- 7 Pro x64 second case CPU AMD Phenom II X4 975 Deneb 3.6ghz - 965 on new mini tower Motherboard Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 Memory Kingston Hyper X DDR3 1600 1.5v 16gb - Mushkin on 2nd build Graphics Card MSI HD Radeon 5750 1gb - MSI HD Radeon 6450 on mini tower Sound Card Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer - Realtek onooard 2nd case Monitor(s) Displays 2 x Acer P191W 19" widesscreen - HP 20" widescreen mini towe Screen Resolution 1440x900 native - 1600x1024 on 7 Pro x64 build Keyboard Microsoft Recusa Razor - MS Comfort 3000 on second build Mouse MS Trackball Explorer - A4TECH dual scroll wheel trackball PSU Corsair 750TX - primary / Corsair CX600 - second Case Antec 900-2 - SSD compatible / NZXT Vulcan mini tower Cooling Zalman CNPS9900A Hard Drives Primary Ultimate x64 build-

Baatfam,
- when you say 'upgrade' from Vista to Windows 7 are you doing a 'clean' install on a newly formatted, clean hard drive?
It's the only way to hopefully solve problems you might be having!
Also, update your motherboard bios to latest and set it to defaults until you are up and running - just in case!
Crysis is dying on my pc now ( driver lock_ups)
Update
10.8's are working fine for me - it was Crysis causing the crashes. Found solution for 'Reckoning' level on the internet!
To finish the level, right click on Crysis icon > Properties > click on 'Target' panel and add (a space, then) -dx9 after the end of the quote marks > like this "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Bin32\Crysis.exe" -dx9

I have a 4850 and Soldier Of Fortune will not run with anyting past 10.3 Catylist and 8.712 driver. I've tried every version past the one that works and SOF will not initialize with any of them.
It's not a SOF/Win 7 compatibility issue as I've tried running it in XP and Vista compatibility modes and it doesn't make any difference.

there is a new Catalyst Application Profile available for download for AvP and BF:BC2 talked about here that is supposed to finally fix many of the performance issues with crossfire and these two games
the 10.8a profile should also be available sometime later on the official AMD.Game.Com site | My System Specs | | OS Windows 8 Professional x64 CPU Intel Core i7-3770K @4.5 GHz Motherboard Asus Sabertooth Z77 Memory 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3-1600 Graphics Card Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 OC Sound Card Realtek Monitor(s) Displays HP 2711x 27" LED Screen Resolution 1920 X 1080p Keyboard Logitech K800 Mouse Logitech Performance Mouse MX PSU Strider Gold Evolution ST1000-G Case Raven RV01 Cooling Noctua NH-D14 Hard Drives Crucial m4 256GB SSD (system)

I have Win 7 64 bit. I run SoF and SoF II as well as RTCW with the 10.4 without any problem. the 10.5 and newer is where the change is seen for those older titles.
I've tried copying the OpenGL driver from the 10.4 into the game folders as well and only ended up seeing the "cannot load graphics driver" error message for them.
I will wait now to see if there is any progress with the next few following the 10.8.

the 10.8a profile should also be available sometime later on the official AMD.Game.Com site That's strictly for Crossfire setups. Even the page there cautions about that. It's for all versions 32bit and 64bit alike XP, Vista, 7 seen at the ATI support.
