Just as info! The cards are called 3870x2 in the drivers but they are tow 3870^^

THX 4 your help!

Greetings
Julian
ok i added your id in this inf file...
atinf.zip
download it and extract it here...
X:\ATI\SUPPORT\9_3_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Driver\Packages\Drivers\Display\LH6A_INF
where x is the default drive (which is of course the drivers default install...)
like i said make sure you unnistall anything related to ati and restart....
other than that thats it...
and then install...
it should recognize the id and install the right drivers

Hm, I uninstalled everything than resarted and installed the new version with your inf. but it chanced nothing ... the installation was faster than usual (but as fast as it was with the normal inf.) and ended with the "Succesfull" screen ... after reboot the Windows 7 8.12 seems to be installed again?

actually now the default ms drivers are installed...
ok the last thing to do is to right click the driver and click update driver software
like so...

Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7-driver-5.png
Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7-driver-6.png
now point it to where you exacted the inf and where the Windows 7 drivers are...
Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7-driver-7.png
make sure you have point to the updated inf and not the old one....
the recent one is the C7 with the other inf as a fallback
Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7-driver-8.png
Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7-driver-10.png
note that it says that this driver is not signed...(ATi better not leave it like this...)
choose the video card that matches yours.... (it should only be one as the one i inserted is the directly related to yours...)

a prompt and should you get this just ignore and click on install...
after this the new drivers should install...
and thats all to it...
if you havent done so install the ati catalyst and should recognize that the Windows 7 driver is installed and not prompt to install it...

Win Xp/7

Problem with all catalysts

Hello!. I have dual boot with win xp. After installing Windows 7 i run all win updates as some drivers were missing. Then installed three versions of catalysts but none of them worked. Instalator works, i go through whole process, but no drivers installed. I just have Windows 7 drivers - standard vga graphic adapter. Windows 7 doesnt detect type of monitor and type of card! I have 16MB vram.
I searched forum and found that my chipset nforce2 can make troubles. So i installed newest drivers thanks to this guide. After some reboots tried newest catalysts and the same situation. Instalator works, but no drivers updated. I have hd 3450 agp and Windows 7 5057. Plz help. My eyes suffer cuz of low refresh rate.

If it can help somehow, al devices run on bus 0 while graphic card and hd audio contoler run on bus 2. The latter have error in device manager:
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.

edit:
I downloaded Agphotfix 9.3 driver for vista and run in compatibility mode. During instalation now i see ring progress indicator, so something happens. But when finished i get error.
From report:
Driver Install: the driver package does not specify a hardware identifier

"This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)"

For this, unless you really are using all resources which I doubt, you need to update your motherboard bios.

As far as the 9.3 hotfix for agp, I get the same error about the hardware i.d. The 9.3 hotfix for my XP installed flawlessly.

How can we install 9.3 on Win 7? How do we make it accept our hardware ids? Anyone know?
