You got that one right on the money!
But even if you have a semi gaming environment and all is well it's not a mandate but an option to look into what the newer ones offer.
One thing to do if you not sure is keep the different ones safe in a separate folder and wait to see how each newer one works out before dumpinng the old stuff. If any newer update is found buggy you can alway revert back to the previous.
Here I keep a small inventory of the older releases onhand for the older cases people ask me to debug at times where the newer ones are simply too new and no longer support the older model series cards after a certain point.
I can dump a few on a flash when repairing or updating one not connected to download directly as well as backup the ones known to be good. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64, XP Mode, W8 RP VM, Linux Mint Debian 2nd OS HD- 7 Pro x64 second case CPU AMD Phenom II X4 975 Deneb 3.6ghz - 965 on new mini tower Motherboard Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 Memory Kingston Hyper X DDR3 1600 1.5v 16gb - Mushkin on 2nd build Graphics Card MSI HD Radeon 5750 1gb - MSI HD Radeon 6450 on mini tower Sound Card Creative Labs X-Fi XtremeGamer - Realtek onooard 2nd case Monitor(s) Displays 2 x Acer P191W 19" widesscreen - HP 20" widescreen mini towe Screen Resolution 1440x900 native - 1600x1024 on 7 Pro x64 build Keyboard Microsoft Recusa Razor - MS Comfort 3000 on second build Mouse MS Trackball Explorer - A4TECH dual scroll wheel trackball PSU Corsair 750TX - primary / Corsair CX600 - second Case Antec 900-2 - SSD compatible / NZXT Vulcan mini tower Cooling Zalman CNPS9900A Hard Drives Primary Ultimate x64 build-

so 10.10 is out and the question is - what is AMD Catalyst™ Accelerated Parallel Processing (APP) Technology and do I need the driver version with it?does my 5770 even support this? | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1 CPU AMD Phenom II X6 1100T BE Motherboard ASUS M5A99X EVO Memory 12GB (Kingston 4GB & 8GB DDR3 1333MHz Kits) Graphics Card MSI GeForce N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II Sound Card ALC892, SB Audigy ES Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech Illuminated Mouse Logitech G400 on SteelSeries 4HD PSU Corsair Professional Series Gold AX850 Case Cooler Master HAF 932 Cooling Zalman CNPS10X Performa, CM 230mm, Titan 140mm PWM Hard Drives OCZ Vertex 3 240GB SATA III, Seagate Barracuda 500GB SATA II, Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB SATA III, Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB SATA II Other Info M-Audio Oxygen 25, Xbox 360 Wired Controller |

I was wonderin' about that. too - not much in the way of explanation - is there?
also this: AMD Catalyst 10.10a Hotfix Features: ■Support for the new Morphological Anti-Aliasing feature ■Performance optimizations for systems with an AMD Radeon™ HD 6870 and AMD Radeon HD 6850 series of graphics products installed ◦Aliens versus Predator performance enhancements ◦Star Craft 2 performance enhancements ◦OpenGL performance enhancements – gains can be seen in Prey, Quake Wars: Enemy Territories, and Heaven v2. - when were those cards issued..?
- another thing - my WEI dropped to 7.1 - via the GFX result..
- after re-activating the Ati colour control - WEI for GFX went back up to 7.6
- spooky..

Sorry to say but this is a case of RTM as it is explained in the release notes,
and yes your card supports it, as to whether you have anything that makes use of OpenCL at this time, only you know what you have installed.

installed 10.10 and got green tint (checked gamma test: green and blue too much). yellow became acid green.
EDID was enabled in Color Temperature Control (because with previous drivers it worked that way, display has sRGB mode enabled because i work with graphics).
Now i disabled EDID and set temp to 6500K. Now everything looks like it was before.
