You can help us help you by trying the suggestion posted. If it doesn't work, tell us.
What does taking out the card have to do with a missing file?
did you run a Registry cleaner after the uninstall?
.. this will remove all traces of a previous prog..

CCleaner is a good one - and it's free..

If that is what caused it might want to try this first,

I restored back to January's driver, but, same as before when I install the latest driver I get the "INF file is missing".

I always let the installer uninstall the driver, reboot and then install the new driver. And then another boot.

Look at Program Files/ATI/CIM/Reports. There should be a number of XML files (will open in your browser). It should show information on what got installed and what failed. At the bottom of the page should be an error statement. Maybe it will point to what is failing.

Here is a new feature that was added:

  • AMD Catalyst update notification (found within the Information Center)
    • This feature notifies users that new AMD Catalyst software packages are available
Aaron may have to find something else to do in his spare time.

Thanks for the update Aaron.

ATI..right on the heels of Nvidia.

They put that feature in a month ago in the 270 drivers.
