The 9.6 went on like a charm as well as the 9.5! This latest seems a little buggy if you want to call it that. And that's from someone that usually gets them all on without problems.

ok, so i went and downloaded the new drivers like every good boy should, then re-ran the WEI test, and the graphics results went down quite a bit from 7.5 to 6.6!
i haven't noticed much of an effect in games though, but i'm back on 9.6 for now!
anyone else getting this?
Okay, the latest version was not that good in this case. I'll try 9.6 and if that doesn't maybe I'll try version 8 instead. Pity I dont know which one I had working on XP...
But I won't do that in this coming week, I'll be on vacation... :)
Thankyou so far, I'll leave you alone for a week and the I'll be back!
strange, i'll need to investigate further, it's a pretty big drop!
Like I was saying it seemed a bit buggy while it may go right on some systems without a fuss. Think back to the 9.4 several saw problems with that went right on here.
Airbot I think you tokk my place for the 9.7!
The only one I ever had problems with was 9.4, maybe 9.5, all the others install (run as admin) perfect without problems for me.
When first getting this build together the 7.9 at the time was seeing a great deal of problems similar to what many saw with the 9.4 recently. The 7.10 and better yet 7.11 cleared all that up at the time.
That one for Vista and now the 9.7 for 7 have actually been the only two in quite some time to ever run into any problems here. I guess you need to have one for each new version?!
hey guys I have the old radeon x1600 256mb on my sons computer and I cant find 9.6 for it all I get is 8.56! is it possible to get the 9.6 for the x1600? thx
Why is it no one bothers to read the release notes for each catalyst version?
Unfortunately that's where you have to start with an older card like that to find the newest version of a "Vista" not 7 update that still supports that model series.
For the 32bit W7 9.3.1 catalyst that shows support for the following
ATI Radeon 9500 Series
ATI Radeon 9550 Series
ATI Radeon 9600 Series
ATI Radeon 9700 Series
ATI Radeon 9800 Series
ATI Radeon X300 Series
ATI Radeon X550 Series
ATI Radeon X600 Series
ATI Radeon X700 Series
ATI Radeon X800 Series
ATI Radeon X850 Series
ATI Radeon X1050 Series
ATI Radeon X1300 Series
ATI Radeon X1550 Series
ATI Radeon X1600 Series
ATI Radeon X1650 Series
ATI Radeon X1800 Series
ATI Radeon X1900 Series
ATI Radeon Xpress Series
ATI Radeon X1200 Series
ATI Radeon X1250 Series
ATI Radeon X2100 Series

For the 64bit W7 you still see the Cat. 9.3.1 as the latest when going through the ATI.AMD support site. http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownloa...9&lang=English
Be grateful AMD bought out ATI or you wouldn't even be seeing that!
