Hey Wishmaster,

I didn't notice a WEI score drop when I did my update, but did notice that Windows needed to refresh the sytem. I did that and my scores were the same (7.6) as they were the last few updates.

I would echo what swarfega said....

I'm pretty sure this will solve your problem.

As for uninstalling the old drivers, I always do the uninstall through the ATI's Catalyst Install Manager under Programs and Features in the Control Panel, then install the new drivers. I've never had a problem doing it this way and it works perfectly everytime.

@ Skunksmash, Yeah, my info in CCC shows 9.12 as well, dispite the fact that I'm using the 10.1 Mass Effect 2 Hotfix drivers (8.690.3.0)

And it's been reported here that the Catalyst 10.1 drivers (8.690.0.0) are WHQL certified... Rage3D Discussion Area - View Single Post - Catalyst 10.1 (ATI).

Yes, I did the refresh each time and it still showed this way for some reason. not sure what was going on.
Or do you mean refresh twice? I mean it greys out and says it needs updated everytime you update drivers. When I updated it is when it dropped.
Do you guys mean run it again, after the initial refresh?

However, other than that it didnt seem to actually hurt performance any at all, nor did help. Basically the same. So I feel certain its nothing more than a buggy WEI scoring.

Once you change drivers just do the refresh once. Windows will let you know it it was successful.

Hmmm...first they had these... 10.1 Mass Effect 2 Hotfix drivers.

How many "Hotfix" drivers is ATI going to release?

As many as it takes... They're taking a leaf out of nvidia's book...

Touch wood the ME2 drivers are working fine here, although forcing x2AA really smacks the smoothness out of it for little IQ gain.

Glad those drivers are working for you.

Sohow are you enjoying ME2 thus far? I just finished it. I have a post here... So I bought Mass Effect 2...

OK, for those wondering, these drivers GPU54ATICatalyst101 do include the Mass Effect2 hotfix drivers as well according to Spyre over at Rage3D - Catalyst 10.1 Hotfix - Resolves Grey Screen Crash Issues - Rage3D Discussion Area. Spyre is a beta tester for ATI's Catalyst Driver program.
