    Hi

after the W7 version of the 8.12 worked even on mobiele versions of the 3870 now the 9.3 seems to not support mobie ones

Even the mobilemodder which normaly solves the "problem" a desktopdriver has with mobile cards couldn't help

    Any suggestions?

    Greetings
    Julian

    you sure you unnistalled everything?
(i mean everything including the driver?)
    what do mean mobile modding?
you are meaning changing the inf file so that it can specify the mobile version of the 3870?
the last thing you can do is run the installer and note where the installer extracts all the files after that close the installer (when it finishes extracting)
then open a command prompt and direct it to there...
after that direct it to either Bin32 (32 bit 7) or Bin 64 (64-bit) and then type "atisetup -install -output screen -output c:\atisetup.log -loglevel 4"
if still nothing happens goto C:\ and you should find the log (should be called atisetup.log....
zip it and paste in you response here

To say the trooth I didn't tested it I only read about it on the Alienware forum. Mobile Modder is a tool wich modifys the inf.

But I'll do now what you said, deinstall everything and than I'll just try to install.

    THX 4 HELP!

    Greetings
    Julian

Edit: what do you think, do I need to even use the hardware-manager (not quite sure what's the real name in english^^) or is it enought to deinstall the Catalyst via "remove software"?

Runs perfect for me. Just uninstalled the CCC from programs and features and it gives the option to uninstall the ccc and the drivers. Unblocked the 9.3 setup, installed as admin and rebooted, all good.
I was hoping you were right, and you were for you, but I'm still up a creek, no multi-screen. I'm not saying I couldn't get it wrong, but your explanation was clear and I followed, result was the same.....anywhere I could have gone wrong.

yes unnistall everything and make sure you do not have any traces of the ati drivers...
and yes to be sure its clean ati install
unnistall in the device manager the old ati driver
make sure the unnistall the driver software is ticked before you click ok...

also it may not output the log file but if it still does not work the it should output here
    C:\Program Files\ATI\CIM\Reports
    there all the log there...
if you still have trouble then like i said zip it up and post it here

    also forgot to ask...
if you can you output your driver screen?
    like this..
maybe i can mod the inf for so it can install...

With Dual 3870, T9400,4GB DDR3 and 320gb Raid0 everything runs wonderful! I was relay impressed!
With the W7 8.12 I can play Crysis on Very High and 1440x900 with around 20-25fps (enought for Crysis to play it and fell in love^^)!

L4D runs only on one core because of the 8.12 (I know 8.12 is the grafics driver but it affects the cpu dualcore "system" of L4D and makes it non work well) but still I get because of the dual mobility 3870 around 100FPS with everything maxed out and native res. (AW driver solves this problem)

    @Topic!

I was able to install it (after doing what you said) and it said: Succesfull!

I rebootet and when I wanted to run CCC it says: "not installed or corrupted driver" (I tryed to translate it^^)

    W7 automaticaly installed 8.12 again ...

Thanks for the thought, just tried you suggestion, not happening. It was a good try and I see it was the same advise you gave in an earlier version. I am of the old school and I should have tried all the old suggestions. I'm sure my card is one of the newer ones and last on the list to be tested by the company. Not that popular yet and I'm sure there arn't to many around, new in this case is the ****ty end of the stick. I will continue to try any advise that I'm given. I do have an nvidia card that works but I am determined to use this one. Thanks for the attempt, if you can think of anything else let me know.
