Crossfire, quite frankly, can be a PITA, with two single GPUS or one 'dual' GPU - but you certainly notice the difference when it does work properly.

Did you see the thread about ATI actually asking one of the guys to send in both of his 5970's so the team can 'test' the 'unknown' issue of of quadfire + eyefinity not working? I don't know what's more unbelievable, the fact that they asked or the fact he's sending them in

And yep - the amount of people who actually send in the problem reports only to be either fobbed off or never hear about it is staggering. (been there, done that - not bothering again)

ATI's defence of 'we didn't know it was an issue' has to be utter BS.

I still believe the way they stonewall or flatly refuse to acknowledge some issues is because if the actual truth were revealed (It doesn't currently work because... it will never actually work)- would hurt sales badly.

    Just FYI:
10.6 still has messed up Future Pinball textures in Windows 7 64-bit (shows NONE), so stick with 10.3, if that's your need.

Yeah I saw it. I'm not sure I would send in my cards as well.... especially for an issue that's been reported as a software problem. I'm also quite sure they're going to send the cards back saying they couldn't find a problem

Hmmm... On the other hand it could be an ATI hardware issue.... problems with performance with dual 5970s & eyefinity? ATI need your help? - Rage3D Discussion Area. So yes I did see the

I've felt this way for a while and completely agree, which again is why I won't waste my money on crossfire. Though I admit, it does sound appealing... when it works.

I'm not putting my eggs into this basket!

10.5 has NOT been any problem for me, but as things go, everyone here will be posting of the fixes 10.6 has done for them and I'll be the one having problems with 10.6.

This round, if it ain't broke, I'm not going to break it
Had to go the route of 10.6... Performed a clean install of Windows yesterday. No problems as of yet--but I haven't done any gaming yet either.

They're going deaf from all the screams of their dissatisfied crossfire customers over their latest driver release and BFBC2. They need to do something quick. Ouch

I’m still running 10.4 on a single 4890 and loving life, though I could probably upgrade to 10.6 without issue since most of the issue are crossfire related… I think.

The 10.6 did not work with my single HD4850. At the end of the installation, Windows reported no Video driver installed and the screen resolution went back to the default VGA resolution. Rebooting didn't help as Windows couldn't find a driver. I had to rollback to 10.3 where everything works.
