Hi there.
Your system has a featured called "Optimus" if my memory serves right. What it does is the nVidia chip will only be activated if the system needs it (i.e. if you run a graphic intensive application) and otherwise, will use the Intel Integrated graphics to save power.
Is there a way to let WEI know there is an nVidia GPU? I don't know but at least, I told you why you have that score
There is nvidia control panel from where configuration can be made.
I think nvidia graphic card can increase graphic rating. Is it so ?
No, the 520 series is very weak.....4.8 is about as good as it getsNew Card- Perf Goes Down?
The OP in the linked thread had a discrete card with 1 gig memory.....mobile graphics are weaker....
I have the same issue on my laptop. The desktop score is using the Intel graphics, the gaming score is much better because that forces WEI to use the GPU card. I have tried everything I can to get it to use the card all the time, but I don't think it's possible. Optimus stinks.
Well, another thing you have to understand, a laptop is not designed for gaming. At least, the Dell Inspirion series is NOT for gaming.
The WEI is not a good measure for how well a computer will perform for some things. For instance, I have a WEI score of 5.9. Thing is, my video is about 7.7, my Processor is at 7.5 and my Memory is at 7.6 The 5.9 is due to the drives I am using, they are not the nice 10k RPM setup or have SSD, which is fine for what I need to do. The important thing to understand is that the Graphics Rating is mostly about what the overall will be. In most cases, you won't eek out much more because the design of laptops is not so much performance, but just how functional it is and also trying not to draw too much power in order to do that, to preserve battery power.
A score of 3.9 is about average, as the max score you can get is 7.9 Anything above 3.9 is not too bad for what needs to be done, but to be honest, you shouldn't really expect any serious gaming from an Inspirion laptop, it was meant more for multimedia than gaming.
can you guys change the powermizer settings? or powermizer settings through regedit?
yes I changed the power settings to performance and run reassesment but was similar.
I have another inspiron n5010 i5,4gb ram,500gb hard ,1gb ati raedon grapic card but that gives WEI 5.5 but new n5110 i7 with nvidia has less just 4.8.
Is this due to optimus in i7 ?
