Using both internal Intel and pci-e Nvidia cards on an Optiplex GX280?

Is it possible to use both the internal intel and a pci-e nvidia graphics card at the same time with two monitors on a Dell Optiplex GX280?

Nick welcome to the Seven Forums.

That sort of thing is dependent on whether or not the bios auto-disables the onboard video when a video card is installed/detected. Some bioses will outright disable the onboard with no chance of it working, and some will auto-disable but allow the use of both through a setting in the bios.

One quick and easy way to see if the onboard is still enabled is to see if it is listed under Display adapters in Device Manager. If it is it should just be a matter of connecting a monitor to it. If it isn't check the bios and see if there is an option anywhere that allows to enable it. Being a Dell somehow I doubt that it will work though.

There is an option in the very restrictive BIOS to allow the use of on-board graphics when a card is also installed. Whether this means you can use both at the same time I'm not sure, but given Dell's limited options in the BIOS I very much doubt it.
