Anyone can help me regarding a good GPU for this particular model of Acer laptop? Is this laptop even upgradable and will an independent GPU make this laptop a decent gaming laptop if ever?

Impossible. You can not upgrade your GPU, CPU ect. on almost ANY laptop. You want the ability to do so, get a desktop. Seriously, buy a good desktop and an average laptop for work only...

I don't really intent this laptop for my gaming per se, but then again don't mind upgrading (if possible) if the hardware's price to be added is on the budget. Given the idea that most laptop can't be upgraded in terms of hardware, I guess this one fits the category. This laptop is really intended for school work but unfortunately our desktop broke down a few weeks ago and have not have it checked since that's why mostly using the laptop right now for gaming. Due to boredom (/lol) I was trying some games on this laptop so as to see which of which works and which of which don't. I guess I'd better had the desktop fixed than thinking of upgrading this laptop that was meant for schooling. Thanks for the info.

many laptops can have their CPUs replaced or upgraded, so long as you have the right chipset...
it requires opening up the lappy which can be an absolute pain, and it's probably best if you got some practice with crappy or no longer used lappy before opening up the one you actually want to use.

GPUs are harder... the first rule is that you must have a dedicated video card (not integrated) and the second is that you have to make sure that it is not fused or glued onto the motherboard. further, managing to find a mobile GPU is difficult and you would most likely have to buy a used one for a high price.

for instance, if i were to upgrade my Geforce 310M to 330M right now, it would cost me something around 240 bucks for a used one, and that would be one of the only ones on the market. 240 dollars for a mediocre GPU upgrade? no thank you... maybe if it was 50..

with regard to the model that you offered us, it is impossible to upgrade the GPU. in upgrading the CPU; i am not very familiar with laptops and AMD, however, i have seen mobile AMD CPUs out for sale on ebay...

I think I already did open a thread about it here before and people assume it was hardware related problem which I also assume. I don't have much experience with computer hardware that's why I'd better have someone who knows it better fix it.
