Graphic Card Performance Lost switching from 64 bit from 32
Oops thread title is wrong i mean switching from 32 bit to 64 bit.
Okay so im working on a side project PC and i just upgraded the OS to Win 7 Ultimate X64 from Vista Home Premium X86
Build is:
Intel Pentium Dual Core E2200
3Gb PC2-6400 RAM
HP 2028h Mobo Q33 Chipset
PNY Geforce GT 430
When i was running Vista on it i was getting a 834 Passmark 3D Graphics Score and 53 FPS average on the complex test using the 32 bit version of Passmark Performance Test 7 and i also received a 5.9 Windows Performance Index Score
Okay now that i have Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit i installed obviously the 64 bit variant of Passmark and received a 682 3D Graphics score and only got 40 frames average on the Complex test YET Windows Performance index now rates GFX at a 6.7 now?
I havent tested any games yet on it i was hoping to fix this FPS issue.
Other things to note on the HP website ( PC was given to me free at work and its a HP Dc5800 Microtower) dosent have drivers for my particular OS they do infact offer drivers for WIN 7 pro, enterprise, home premium and basic. Same as when i had vista they had all other versions but what i had but i was able to get the home basic drivers to work fine and in that i flashed the bios and installed the Chipset drivers. now when i go to the Chipset drivers on both Pro and Enterprise i get a incompatibility message and it closes and yes i clicked on 64 bit. i could try to install the 32 bit chipset drivers but i would assume that would hurt overall system performance..cause other then GFX dropping i did infact gain +300 score on CPU and +200 score on RAM.
What is causing this issue? Or is thier even an issue at all like i said i went from a 834 score down to a 682 score in passmark yet i went form a 5.9 Windows index score to a 6.7?? hmm. I did everything the same as i did in the vista install, latest updates, lateast drivers, and optimized background processes down to 28 in win 7 ultimate and 33 in vista home premium. what do you think is affecting the performance and what can i do to fix this. My nvidia settings are optimized as well as all C++ runtimes installed. I am also using the 64 bit drivers for my GFX
