GeForce GTX580 - Switching between DVI (PC) and HDMI (HDTV)

    Hi!

I am getting a new PC equipped with a GTX580 card soon. The card has both DVI and mini-HDMI outputs. What I want to do is to use the DVI output for my LCD screen on my desktop PC, and the HDMI output to display stuff on my HDTV in the living room. If I connect the card to both my TV (HDMI) and LCD screen (DVI), how do I switch between the two of them? Or will the card constantly stream both to my TV and LCD screen?

Hi and welcome to Seven forums Pino

Depends how you want to work it.

You can choose to switch between displays in the nvidia control panel or clone them, or even have an extended desktop so you can have your regular stuff on one screen while watching something else on the other.

    Hello Pino, Welcome to SF!

Not sure if I get the question... w7 will see two different screens and you get to choose how to use them.
As an example, you can have both show the same info, but most use it to expand their desktop over two screens. In your case with a tv you can just let it stream a movie to the tv and play a game on your monitor, assuming your pc is strong enough to do both at the same time. The card is....

    2 DVI's and 1 HDMI

    Hi there,

I have a gtx 580 card. I have 2 LCD screens connected with DVI and now I'm buying a LED TV. I know that it is not possible to extend the desktop to 3 different viewswith that card, but will I be able to connect the LED threw the HDMI, keep the other 2 LCD's with the DVI, and then control which one will be shown?

For example, switching between one of the LCD's (DVI) to the LED (HDMI) and vice versa

    Thankyou,

    Itay
