Windows 7 - Samsung Syncmaster 226cw - Unable to select native resolution

Hello there,

I just got a Samsung Syncmaster 226cw Monitor today, Running it on a ATI HD 5770 GFX card via a DVI cable, I've installed the latest driver listed via Samsungs website and also allowed windows to install its base drivers, Both methods have failed to allow me to select a resolution higher than 640 x 480 :- I'm running Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.

Ati driver will allow me too select the native resolution, Once I untick hide all modes this monitor cannot display on right click > resolution > Advanced propertys > monitor, and use list all modes on the adapter tab.

I also noticed that when I let windows select the driver, it listed my monitor as a generic Non-PnP monitor, in both device manager and the screen resolution page.

Now when I install the samsung driver's, It lists itself correctly in device manager, But lists itself as Display device on : DVI.

I also get nothing on my screen when booting the PC, until it hits windows loading in
