    Sad news for you.

Even if you find a driver for your graphics, you won't get Aero.
The graphics card is not able to.

edit: The earliest driver that could run Aero is the 945G

    Don't be too sad.

You can still make it look quite descent, and even have a transparent taskbar with a little program.

Look at my laptop. No Aero translucency, but not bad, i think.

The latest driver can be found by using the Microsoft Update Catalog -- but before you get too excited, realize that it will NOT support Aero, and that is regardless of what any "driver update app" will tell you.

The Intel 915 chipset does not have an Aero-capable Vista or Seven driver because, basically, Intel refuses to write one.

The translucent task bar is due to a patch that can be found in the Customization subforum.

Also, if you want a desktop other than Seven Basic, check the same forum for UxStyle and some Basic-oriented style downloads. You can make your desktop look better, but despite what anyone may tell you, you can NOT get Aero. I know, I have a 915-chipset laptop and have been chasing ways to get Aero effects for a long time.

    Thanks for that info Mark.

I have an R52 that's running the Intel integrated graphics chip you mention. I don't mind the basic. My lappy is still zippy and if I want to game I use my console or use the desktop.

I just have one issue and that is with playing DVD's in WMP. It freezes the whole system. I have to hold down the Power button to restart.

    Suggest Graphic card for Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL E

    Hi ppl,
I've just joined this forum after seein a good deal of discussion.

    I've installed Windows7 on my 915G.

Am lookin to add a 512 graphic card. nVIDIA 8400 series by MSI looks lik a good one but I don hav any knowledge how well it could do on Win7.

Can anyone suggest me a decent graphic card for me.

    TIA
    Dinesh
