Input signal out of range!! When upgrading to windows 7

HELP! I am very frustrated, and have done everything possible. I've upgraded an XP to Windows 7. While updating the OS, the monitor says Input Signal Out of range, recommended settings 1440x900 60Hz

I have already tried the safe mode, but it does not let me because it shows Phoenix Award BIOS CMOS in the DOS mode. It says press 'DEL' to setup, because it does not do anything as I frantically press F8, F5, F10!!! You name it, I pressed it. I went to the BIOS menu and selected
>Advanced BIOS features
>I selected First Boot Device as CD-ROM
>I've selected Load-Fail-Safe Defaults

I've done everything!!! It does not get me into safe mode...I've tried 2 different monitors and the same problem. This only happened as soon as Windows 7 replaced XP system. I am very frustrated because it's becoming more of a problem then a solution!!! Please help....Thank you

were both monitors the same? as it could be that windows 7 displays at a resolution/frequency that your screens dont support. but then again it should support 800x600.. as it would be silly not to.
