Problems with resolution in W7

I bought a new computer in April. Using my very old monitor I could choose between many resolutions and found one I liked (Can't remember what it was, but it was kinda high). Then a couple of months ago I bought a new monitor. With this monitor (It says its default resolution is 1650*1050) I can only have 1024*768. I really want a better resolution as that one is so annoying. I've downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers for my graphics card and I've gone to the samsung website and downloaded the latest driver for my monitor, the Samsung Syncmaster rz2233.

Now I turn to you guys, do you have any idea how to help me?

Kind regards,
Marcus.

I'm also sorry if I posted this in the wrong sub-forum.

Things that might help you guys, I've tried customizing a resolution (1680*1050, the native solution for my monitor) but it doesnt work.

Going to the NVIDIA panel trying to find resulotions there;

The higher one, does not fit with the screen, and text gets blurry

Trying to customize one;

Looking at the spec of your monitor it should run at 1680x1050 120hz 32bit try setting that as a custom size

This might be a silly question, but is it plugged in to the right port? Using the dedicated graphics card and not the on-board one?

Also, double check there's only one monitor enabled - if you have two enabled on 'duplicate' mode, the maximum resolution will be restricted to whatever the smallest maximum resolution is.
